Dexter Bales

Dexter Bales 91 of Ten Mile passed away August 5, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loved ones following an extended illness. He was a life-long resident of Ten Mile and enjoyed coon hunting, gardening and farming. He was a son of George and Ella Bales and a life-long member of the Ten Mile Holiness Church.

Dexter was preceded in death by his parents George and Ella Bales, his wife of fifty-six years Gertie Viola Bales, his son, Roger Bales, granddaughters, Jennifer Finnell, and Samantha Bales; grandsons DeWayne Jones, Scotty Trew, and Ricky Butler Jr.

Survivors include daughters and sons-n-law Peggy and Mike Allen of Kingston, Debbie and Jim Beason of Kingston, Brenda and Jake Howell of Ten Mile, and Sue and Hurb Jones of Lenoir City; Sons and daughters-in-law, Clifford and Barbara Bales of Ten Mile, Roy and Sandra Bales of Kingston, Billy and Faye Bales of Ten Mile, and Ralph and Lucille of Ten Mile; twenty-three grandchildren; thirty-seven great grand-children; and thirteen great -great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers include grandsons Mitch Bales, Tony Bales, Mark Beason, Anthony Bales, DeWayne Bales, Travis Allen, Noah Howell and Steven Bales.

The family will receive friends from 5pm to 7pm on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at Bowers Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 7pm with Lawrence Waller and Neil Turner officiating. Burial will be Friday, August 10, 2018 at 11am in Bales Cemetery in Ten Mile.
