David Blaine Wright

David Blaine Wright, born on February 12, 1952, in Kingsport, TN, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2026, of natural causes in Cleveland, TN.

A chemical engineer by profession, David had a special love for British motorcars and turned his hobby into a business opening Minor Classics Restorations. David was a lifetime member of the Antique Automobile Club of America - Cherokee Valley Region, Southern British Car Club, and more.

David enjoyed picking the banjo and strumming his guitar and was a founding member of the First UMC String Band.

Although David was a quiet man, those who knew him well know of his dry wit and humor. His legacy will live on in the stories and laughs shared by friends and family and in the songs he loved to play.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Blaine and Nadine Wright.

He was a devoted husband to Connie Wright and a proud father to his son, Daine Wright and daughter, Julee Dunn. David is also survived by his brother, Jeff Wright; sister-in-law, Laurie Wright; son-in-law, Jason Dunn; daughter-in-law, Courtney Wright; four grandsons: Micah, Sam, Ezra, and Luke; other extended family and a host of friends.

He will be laid to rest at Hiwassee Memorial Gardens in Charleston, TN.

A celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, July 26, 2026, at First United Methodist Church of Cleveland. To honor David's passion for vintage vehicles, the family welcomes friends to drive their antique cars.

The family will receive friends from 2 - 3 p.m., prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice in honor of David.
