David Thompson

David Lynn Thompson, age 67, of Ten Mile, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2025.

David was born on May 13, 1958, and was a proud member of the local community. He was an active member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. He found joy in the great outdoors through fishing and hunting, and he passionately supported local sports, particularly those of Meigs County, where he was a loyal fan. His involvement with the Meigs County Coon Club reflected his love for the outdoors and his commitment to community traditions.

David was preceded in death by parents: Pearlie Isaac Thompson Sr., Kitty Thompson; brother, Pearlie Isaac Thompson, Jr.

David is survived by his wife of 29 years, Linda Harrison Thompson; special companion dog, Maggie; children, Kevin (Joy) Thompson, Chrissy (Allen) Jarka; step-children, David Ellison, Michael (Shelly) Ellison, Rachel (Craig) Helms; grandchildren, Andrew (Kayley) Ellison, Austin Coleman, Ansley (Dakota) Spencer, Harrison Helms; great-grandsons: Tucker Luke Ellison, Macklin Coleman, Titus Ellison, Laine Spencer; siblings, Jimmy (Nadine) Thompson, Brenda (Phillip) Hammond, Sammy (Laure) Thompson; many cherished friends and other extended family members who will deeply miss him.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Gary Rolen and the Rev. Curtis Porter officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5 - 7 p.m. on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, in the Chapel of Decatur Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
