David William "Dave" Burgess

David William “Dave” Burgess, age 78, of Ten Mile, passed away on June 30, 2025.

He attended Ten Mile Baptist Church. He retired from TVA after 28 years of service as an Receipt Inspection Manager. He was a United States Navy Veteran, an avid Tennessee Vols and Lady Vols Fans, and enjoyed being outdoors, especially golfing and fishing. He was a devoted Poppi to his grandsons, Wil and Wyatt.

He was preceded in death by parents: Herbert and Thelma Hamrick Burgess.

He is survived by his wife of 29 years: Lisa Burgess; children: Jeff (Roberta) Franklin, Tiffany Franklin, Tiffany (Tony) Parson, Jeff (Donna) Burgess; grandchildren: Wil Franklin, Wyatt Franklin, Josh Parson, Justin Parson, Allie Parson; mother and father in-law: Cecil and Marie Underwood; “brother Dave” to Amy Underwood; several great-grandchildren and Other Extended family.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, July 7, 2025, in the Chapel of Decatur Funeral Home & Cremation Services with the Rev. Freddy Cunningham officiating. Interment will follow in the Pisgah Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 12 – 2 p.m., prior to the service.
