Clyde Thomas Scott

June 6, 1924 — October 5, 2020

Clyde Thomas Scott, age 96, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away Monday morning, October 5, 2020. Clyde was a dearly loved brother, husband, father, uncle, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a one-of-a-kind man who loved to fish and cut up with "the geezers" at Hardees. Clyde dedicated his life to caring for his family. Having served in WWII, he was the greatest of the Greatest Generation. A native of Meigs County and farm boy at heart Clyde could tell some tales. Clyde is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 75 years who died July 20, 2020.



He is survived in this life by two sons and daughters-in-law, Bill (Nancy) Scott and Mike (Elaine) Scott, two granddaughters Debbie Smith and Martha Scott, and three great-grandchildren, Tucker Smith, Kendall Smith, and Jordan Powers, and sister Sarah Frances (Scott) Howell. He leaves a legacy of nieces, nephews, extended family, and countless lives he touched. Clyde is preceded in death by parents, Carl Winfield and Willie Mae Scott and brothers, Roy Edwin and Martin Samuel Scott and sister, Betty Sue (Scott) Bean.



The family will celebrate Clyde’s life in a private graveside service at Decatur Cemetery on Wednesday, October 7, 2020.



No formal visitation will be held.
