Clyde Max Harmon, age 84, of Decatur, went tobe with the Lord on Sunday, Sept. 20, 2020 at Starr Regional Medical Center of Athens.
He was the son of the late Mose Milburn and Dora Iva Benton Harmon and was a member of the Decatur United Methodist Church. He was the owner of Harmon's Fence Co. and Harmon's Lawn and Garden Center in Cleveland, Tn, before moving to Decatur. After moving back to Decatur, he was employed with VEC and the operator of his lawn service, which he enjoyed along with farming.
He ispreceded in death by his parents, listed above; brother: Doyle Harmon; and a sister: Frances Harmon Harris.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Linda Spriggs Harmon of Decatur; one son: Rusty Harmon and his wife Aimee of Knoxville; two grandsons: Bryce and Grant; sister-in-law: Charlotte Harmon of Decatur; brother-in-law Don Harris of Cleveland; nieces and nephews: Brenda Harmon, Milburn Harmon, and his wife Marilyn all of Decatur, Dee Harris and wife Daphney of Prosper, TX, Donna Scott and husband David of Cleveland, and other grand-nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, September, 22nd at 2 PM in the Chapel of Bowers Funeral Home with the Rev. Will Connor and the Rev. Hugh Bryan officiating. Interment will follow in the Decatur Cemetery with David Scott, Craig Thompson, Carey Thompson, Dennis Shaver, Milburn Harmon, and Dee Harris serving as pallbearers.
The Family will receive friends on Tuesday from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
