Claude “Butch” Reattoir, 77, of Decatur, passed away on Friday, February 5, 2021 at Life Care Center of Rhea County. He was the son of the late Charles and Beth Reattoir. He was a member of Concord Missionary Baptist Church- Ten Mile and a U.S. Army Veteran having served in Europe as a Tank Commander. He enjoyed camping and the outdoors. He is preceded in death by his wife: Madeline Reattoir, daughter: Janet Suggs, brother: Bobby Spurlin. He is survived by children and their spouses: James and Jane Roper of Decatur, Jeannie and Kevin Whitfield of Destin, FL, Johnny Roper of Ringgold, GA, 11 grandchildren, 39 great- grandchildren, 7 great great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and other extended family. A Funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 in the Chapel of Decatur Funeral Home & Cremation Services with the Rev. Neal Pillion and the Rev. Jimmy Jackson officating. Interment will be at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 in the Chattanooga National Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 5-7 on Tuesday, prior to the service.
