Christine Ann "Chrissy" Walker

Christine Ann Walker, age 53, of Decatur, TN, passed away in the early hours of November 14, 2023, after a long battle with Multiple Myeloma Cancer.

Chrissy was born in Ranson, WV in 1970 to Junior and Liz Whitmore, whom she shared with five other Brothers and Sisters. Chrissy is a 1989 graduate of Jefferson High School in Jefferson County, WV. She has held a variety of jobs throughout her career, all centered around helping people in some way.  Helping people is what Chrissy did full time - all of the time.

Chrissy loved her friends like family, ALL OF THEM.  Friends and Family members from I-75 Raceway in Niota, TN, and the congregation at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Athens, TN, all were all solidly connected through Chrissy's cancer treatments and her uphill battle to overcome. Her Medical Family at Thompson Cancer Center in Knoxville, TN and the infusion center and the 8th Floor Staff at Fort Sanders Hospital in Knoxville are all warriors in the cancer battle that Chrissy was so lucky to have each and every one on her side. Gratitude extended to her Friends: Beth Seiber for her miles traveled and hours spent as Chrissy’s personal medical transport, as well as Nikki Blackmon for her care and assistance.

She is preceded in death by her father: Robert Junior Whitmore of Ranson, WV; father in law: Charles Walker III of Decatur, TN. Both were extremely impactful figures in Chrissy’s life and were both cared for by her.

She is survived by her husband: Charles “Chris” Walker of Decatur; sons: Danny (Grace) Nowell of Martinsburg, WV, Collin (Bethany) Walker of Crossville, TN; grandchildren: Sebastian Nowell, Eevealynn Nowell of Martinsburg, WV; beloved dog: CoCo and Cat: Smokey; mother: Liz Whitmore; brothers: Robbie (Cathy) Whitmore, Timmy (DeeDee) Whitmore, Tommy Whitmore; sisters: Debbie (Lawrence) Vickers of WV, Angie (John) Janszen of TN; Aunt: Nicole Ott, who has been Chrissy’s caregiver for the last two years and deserves much credit for her dedication and efforts.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
