Charles Edward Wilson

Charles E. Wilson, age 82, of Decatur, passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2025.

He was a son of the late Norman and Rosie Wilson. He was of the Baptist faith and a United States Army Veteran. He enjoyed watching dirt track racing, horseback riding, riding his golf cart, restoring his truck, and spending time on the river and with family. He was an avid TN Volunteers sports fan, especially the Lady Vols Basketball. After retiring from Chattanooga Boiler & Tank with over 33 years of service, he spent most of his time on the farm with his cows.

He is preceded in death by the love of his life: Faye Wilson; son: Chris Wilson; siblings: Opal Heck, Larry Wilson.

He is survived by his daughter: Karen (Doug) Wilcox; siblings: Wayne (Linda) Wilson, Lesia (David) Fitch; grandchildren: Chelsea (Dalton) Jirles, Mollie Grubb; great-grandchild: Wilson Jirles; several nieces, nephews, other extended family, and a host of friends.

The family will receive friends from 12 – 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 22, 2025, in the Chapel of Decatur Funeral Home & Cremation Services. A Graveside Service will follow in the Cottonport Cemetery with the Rev. Dewayne Murphy officiating.
