Charles Boggess "Charlie" King

Charles Boggess “Charlie” King, age 91, of Decatur, passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2024. He was the son of the late John Boggess “Bud” and Mae Gregory King. He was a member of Pisgah Baptist Church, retired from TVA and Mesa Associates, a local farmer, and an avid NASCAR fan. He served in the United States Air Force for 4 years. He is survived by his wife of 63 years: Susan Riggins King; children: Karen (Jeff) Davis, Charles (Julie) King, John (Vanessa) King; grandchildren: Jill (Zach) Henry, Rachel (Justin) Young, Hannah King, Kathryn King, Brian King; several cousins and other extended family. The family will receive friends from 10 – 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, in the Chapel of Decatur Funeral Home & Cremation Services. A graveside service will follow in the Decatur Cemetery with the Rev. Brett Boyd officiating. Decatur Funeral Home & Cremation Services is honored to serve the King Family.
