Charles Lex Clark

Charles "Lex" Clark, 73, of Athens passed away January 17, 2018 at his residence following a long illness. He was born in Athens, TN and was a son of Pleas and Etta Clark. Lex was a lifelong resident of Athens and enjoyed fishing, Hunting, football, spending time with his grandchildren and time in fellowship with others. He was an Electrician and a member of the National Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and IBEW local 175. Lex attended the Riceville Church of Christ.

Lex was preceded in death by his parents, Pleas and Etta Clark; brothers, Stanley Clark, and Chester Clark; and sisters, Estelle Jamerson, Nellie Dawson, and Betty Armstrong.

Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 50 years and 6 months, Evelyn Cookston Clark of Athens; his sons, Spencer Hall of Niota, Chris Clark (Leigh) of Decatur, Barry Clark of Athens, and Corey Clark of West Palm Beach, FL; a daughter, Andrea Fedele of Athens; a brother, Robert Clark (Geraldine) of Athens; sisters, Willanell Norred of LaGrange, GA, Joy Thurman (Jay), DeLois Thurman, and June Brown (Jr.), all of Decatur; six grandchildren, Chastia, Jordan, Austin, Angelina, Ally and Ashley; and three great-grandchildren.

A gathering to celebrate his life will be at Bowers Funeral Home in Decatur on Saturday, January 20, 2018 from 2pm to 5pm. No other services are planned at this time.
