Charles George "Dump" Armour

Rev. Charles George "Dump" Armour, age 76, of Decatur, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, June 19, 2026.

He was a son of the late George and Nettie Armour. Dump was a proud veteran of the United States Army and dedicated his life to serving his community. He worked as a cattle farmer and was known for his spirited horse trading, finding joy in spending time at the stock yard. Dump also pastored at various churches in the area for many years, leaving a lasting impact on countless lives through his faith and dedication

Dump was a member of Meigs Lodge #213, F.&A.M. for 46 years and a member of Alhambra Shrine- Chattanooga, where he built strong bonds with fellow members and shared in the brotherhood of service.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Valery Armour; siblings, Eddie Armour, David 'Crockett" Armour; nephew, Mitch Armour.

He is survived by his children, Eric (Christy) Armour, Adam (Alisha) Armour, Brandon (Tisha) Armour; grandchildren, Charlie (Riley) Armour Jr., CJ Armour (Destony Scroggins), Noah (Emma) McFalls, Payton Armour, Addison Armour, Isabella G McFalls, Bleu Armour, Cali Armour; great-grandchildren, Madlyn Armour, Avery Armour, Laklyn Armour, Elena McFalls, Lincoln McFalls; special nieces and nephews, Tracy Armour, Dave Armour, Laney Lewis, Briggs Patrick; other extended family and a host of friends.

A Masonic Funeral Service will be held at 7 p.m., on Monday, June 29, 2026 at Walnut Grove Baptist Church, with a funeral service following with Pastor Josh Cornelius and Dr. Ronnie Jones officiating. Pallbearers will be his special friends, David Merrell, Roy Lee Combs, Dusty Williams, Jeff Pritchett, Jeff McLanahan, Jerry McHone, Jim Morris, and Alan Bostic.

The family will receive friends from 4 - 7 p.m., prior to the service.
