Carter Edwin "Auger" Nelson, 70, Life long resident of Ten Mile/Decatur Area, passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2016, at his home. He was a member of the Oak Grove United Methodist Church. He was a former Meigs County Commissioner of the 4th district for over 20 years. He was a member of the Tennessee Laborers Union Local 846 out of Chattanooga, TN.

He was preceded in death by his parents, R.S . "Doc" and Mildred Carter Nelson and one brother Bill Nelson.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years Kitty Cass Nelson of Decatur, one son Tim Nelson and wife Jamie of Decatur, one brother Butch Nelson and wife Patsy of Decatur, and two sisters Betty Lynn of Cleveland and Peggy Skinner and husband Jimmy of Decatur. Two grandchildren Kayla and Evelyn Nelson and several Nieces and Nephews and extended family and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be at 7:00 p.m. Friday, August 26, 2016 at The Bowers Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Doug Brown officiating.

Family will receive friends Friday, August 26, 2016 from 4:00 p.m.-until 7 p.m. at Bowers Funeral Home.

Burial will be Saturday, August 27, 2016, at 11 a.m. in the Rocky Springs Cemetery in Ten Mile.

Family and Friends will serve as Pallbearers and "B-MAN" Roberts as Honorary Pallbearer.
