Carol Ann Spongross

Carol Spongross, 78, of Decatur, passed away on Thursday, September 16, 2021. She is preceded in death by her parents: Fred and Dorothy Shaw Tocknell, husband: James "Bear" Spongross. She is survived by her sons: John Barats of Soddy Daisy, TN, James Spongross, Jr. of Jasper, TN, daughters: Karen Spongross of Decatur, TN, Bonnie McPherson of Birchwood, TN, brothers: Fred Tocknell of Oklahoma, Tom Tocknell of Red Bank, TN, sisters: Lynn Butler of Chickamauga, GA, Jane Roper of Decatur, TN, Seven grandchildren, Eleven great-grandchildren, Four great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews and other extended family also survive. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 in the Chapel of Decatur Funeral Home & Cremation Services at 7:00 p.m. with the Rev. Neil Pillion officiating. The Family will receive friends from 5 p.m. till 7 p.m. prior to the service. Decatur Funeral Home & Cremation Services is honored to serve the Spongross family.
