Billy Michael Spurling

Billy Michael Spurling, age 63, of Decatur, Tennessee, passed away on August 19, 2026. He was born on March 8, 1963, in Athens, Tennessee.

Billy was a loving father who cherished his children and the time he spent with family and friends. He enjoyed playing darts and shooting pool, and he will be remembered for the friendships, laughter, and memories he shared with those around him.

He is survived by his three children, Christy Allen, Michael (Detra) Spurling, and Heather (Chelsea) Pillion; his grandchildren, Jaylen (Nathan) Ricker and Lillian (Taylor) Gregory; his mother, Barbara Kile (Jerry Gable); and his sister, Teresa (Ricky) Johnson. He also leaves behind close friends, Jerry (Brandi) Mashburn, Allen Long, along with many other family members and friends who loved him and will miss him dearly.

Billy was preceded in death by his father, Billy Jack Spurling, and niece, Sylvana Cashea Johnson.

Billy's life touched many people, but his greatest legacy will always be the love he gave as a father and grandfather and the memories he leaves with the people who knew him. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

The family will receive friends from 3 - 4 p.m., on Thursday, August 27, 2026 in the Chapel of Decatur Funeral Home & Cremation Services.

No formal funeral service will be held.
