Billy Ray Meadows, 69, of Decatur, passed away on Monday, February 1, 2021 at his residence. He was a member of Morning View Baptist Church. He enjoyed softball, long walks, camping, and wood working. Most of all he enjoyed hanging out with his grandson. He was Staff Sgt in the United States Airforce, worked at Shaw Industries, drove a bus for Meigs County School System, worked as a brick mason, tree trimmer and lawn care services. He is preceded in death by his parents: Carl and Rebecca Pilkey Meadows, brothers: Frank Meadows, Clyde Meadows, William (Wick) Meadows, Howard (Buzz) Meadows, Danny Meadows Sr., sisters: Barbra Jean Fagg, Anna Sue Tilley. He is survived by his daughters: Sherry Meadows of Decatur, Gina Davis (Buddy) of Decatur, brothers: Kenny Meadows of Decatur, Leroy Meadows of Decatur, sister: Wanda Faye Stokes of Harrison, grandson: Cole Patton, great-grandchildren: Rhett Patton, Harper Patton; special friend Debra Jordan and honorary grand children: Haylee Womac, Adalee Womac, Emilee Womac and Sophie Ford, and several nieces, nephews, other extended family, and many friends. A graveside service will be held on Friday, February 5, 2021 at 1 p.m. at Meigs County Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Mike Couch officiating. The Funeral Home will be open from 11 to 12 prior to the service for friends to pay their respects. Pallbearers will include: Cole Patton, Matt Meadows, Mark Meadows, Gary Meadows, Tim Meadows, Allen Meadows, with his nephews serving as honorary pallbearers. Due to Covid 19 regulations we ask that you bring and wear your mask during the service and practice social distancing.
