Billy George Hicks, age 76, of Decatur, passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2022. He was an avid Tennessee Vols sports fan and dirt track and Nascar racing. He was an Vietnam Veteran, and retired from the Watts Bar Nuclear Plant. He was preceded in death by his father: George Hicks, mother: Frances Russell, wife: Barbara Hicks. He is survived by his children: Connie Mikel (Greg), Junior Martin, siblings: Frannie Sue (George) Jones, Ann (Michael) Rausch, Eddie, Tommy, and Clifford Crowder, stepbrother: Mike Russell, grandchildren: Tabitha (Rodney) Wattson, Angie (Mark) Taylor, Leslie Sims,Timothy Callahan, and Sydney Sims great-grandchildren: Hayleigh and Hayden Wattson, Brothers-in-law: Donnie Brown, Jimmy Brown, and Billy Brown, nieces and nephew: Sherry (Cullen) Humphrey, Candie Sexton, Jarrett Rausch, special friends, Julie & Jake Haireell, and Marvin. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Decatur Funeral Home & Cremation Services with the Pastor Ralph Bales officiating. Interment will follow in the Meigs County Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, November 7, 2022 in the Chapel of Decatur Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
