Betty Parris

Betty Goforth Parris, age 72 of Decatur, went to heaven to be with our Lord Sunday evening. She was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church and dearly loved the Lord, her family, her pets and her flowers. Betty was preceded in death by her infant son Bobby; her parents Haskell and Sally Wilson Goforth; brother Clyde Goforth; sister Janice Monroe. She is survived by her husband Bobby Parris of Decatur; daughter Cheryl and her husband Lynn Ingram; grandson Derek Ingram and his wife Kaylan; granddaughter Micayla, all of Englewood; bother Dean Goforth of Decatur; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5-7 pm. The funeral will follow at 7 pm in the Chapel of Bowers Funeral Home with Reverend Jamie Davis and Reverend Max Redman officiating. Interment will be Thursday at 12 pm at Beta Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Goforth, Robert Howard, Farrell Jarvis, Rick Vaughn, J E Wilson, Billy Wilson. Honorary pallbearer will be Bill Jarvis. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the American Cancer Society or the Lupus Foundation.
