Betty Faye Swafford Jarvis, age 88, of Decatur, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 1, 2025.
Betty was a faithful member of the Walnut Grove Baptist Church. She was a member of the Lions Club, Order of the Eastern Star Athenian Chapter #159, and the Meigs County Fair Association. Betty will be remembered by her family as a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Willard and Ida Belle Womac Swafford; husband, Ralph Jarvis; brothers Ray Swafford, Earl Swafford; grandson, Matt Jarvis.
She is survived by her daughter, Gail (Jerry) Franklin; sons, Wayne (Margie) Jarvis and Bob (Sherry) Jarvis; granddaughters, Tara (Robbie) Crane, Wendy (Jodie) Brantley, Lacey Dennis, and Tiffany (Jeremy) Bivens; grandson, Cory (Morgan) Jarvis; great grandchildren Lake Dennis, Cienna Dennis, Braeden Bowman, Briley Bowman, Eli Barker, Sophie Bivens, Rori Jarvis; brothers: Rudy (Virginia) Swafford, Ralph Swafford, Claud Swafford, sisters: Ilene (Hugh) Bryan, Ruby Swafford; brother-in-law: Don Jarvis; several nieces and nephews, other extended family, and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. - 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, in the Chapel of Decatur Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
A Graveside Service will be held at 3 p.m. in the Walnut Grove Cemetery with the Rev. Josh Cornelius officiating.
