Bessie Lee Holt

Bessie Lee Nance Buckner Holt, age 97 of Decatur, TN went home to be with the Lord on April 11, 2011 at her daughters residence in Decatur, TN. She was the oldest member of Shiloh Baptist Church and was active in the Meigs Republican Ladies. She is preceded in death by her husband, Carl F. Holt, parents, Luther Earnest Nance and mother Ida Daisy Carter Nance, son, Wayne Buckner, daughter, Wanda Buckner Sliger, brothers, Thomas Nance, Clarence Nance, Sisters, Naomi Wright and Pearl Elder She is survived by daughters, Phyllis Karagas of Wyandotte, MI Jeanette and son-in-law, Doyle Meadows of Decatur, TN Geneva Petitt of Cleveland, TN Brother, Johnny Nance of Decatur Sisters, Edith Bahls of Sun City, Arizona and Myrtle Bryant of Decatur, TN 14 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren Funeral services are 3:00 p.m. April 14, 2011 at Shiloh Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Lewis and Rev. Taylor Colbaugh officiating. Mrs. Holt will lie in state from 2:00 p.m.until 3:00 p.m. at the church on Thursday April 14, 2011 Interment will follow in the Shiloh Cemetery with grandsons serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Wednesday April 13, 2011 from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
