Barbara Lee Watson

Watson, Barbara Lee "Mamaw" of Milton Florida went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ peacefully, November 11, 2013, after a long battle with breast cancer. Born in Decatur Tennessee, Barbara was the daughter of Carl and Dorothy Watson. She attended Meigs County High School and spent the last 38 years residing in Milton Florida where she was a wonderful mother to 3 beautiful daughters. Barbara never let her 20 years of fighting cancer get her down and always maintained a happy and joyful spirit despite her pain and sickness. Barbara worked for NAPA in Jacksonville Florida for 5 years. She then spent the next 35 years as a Civil Service employee working at the Public Works Department, Naval Air Station Whiting Field Florida and Naval Air Station Jacksonville Florida. She served with distinction as the Administration Officer and Financial Manager/Budget Analyst and received numerous awards for her faithful dedication and superb performance. Barbara loved the Lord and faithfully served Him all her life. Barbara served as the pianist at Victory Baptist Church, Milton Florida for several years. She was called to then serve as the pianist at Florida Town Baptist Church, Pace Florida until her illness made it too difficult. Barbara was predeceased by her parents, Carl and Dorothy Watson. She is survived by two sisters, Joyce Blevens and Carlene Wilson, two brothers, Mike and Dave Watson and step mother Vera Watson, all of Decatur Tennessee, three daughters, Karan Lee Erlandson and her husband Carl of Linwood NJ, Karmen Boccia of Florida, and Jennifer Griffith and her husband Terry of Milton Florida, 10 grand children, Ryan, Lindsay, CJ, Bethany (John), Nathaniel, Alyssa, Brooke (Spencer), Chase, Bretta and Daniel, and 7 great grand children. Viewing will be held Friday, November 15, 6-8pm for friends and family at Bowers Funeral Home, Decatur Tennessee. Burial will take place on Saturday, November 16, 11am at the Decatur City Cemetery.
