Arthur Warner Davis

Arthur W. “A.W.” or “Dub” Davis, age 95, passed away at UT Medical Center on Sunday, May 1, 2022. A.W. was born February 20, 1927 to the late Jess (Former Chief Deputy of Meigs County Sheriff’s Dept) and Maude Davis, and was a life-long resident of Decatur, TN. He was a kind and gentle man who was always smiling and laughing. He was an Army veteran involved in the occupation of Germany and received an Army Occupation Award. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 70 years: Fay, who died March 31, 2022; 2 brothers: Condon and Jay; 4 sisters: Cleo, Stella, Blanche, and Jessie. Survivors include his younger brother: Victor (Hugh Victor) Davis of Franklin, TN; sister-in-law Betty Jo Coffey of Athens, TN; several nieces, nephews, and other extended family. A graveside service will be held on Monday, May 9, 2022 at 2 p.m. in the Decatur Cemetery with the Hearth Hospice Chaplain, Brent Stewart, officiating. Decatur Funeral Home & Cremation Services is honored to serve the Davis Family.
