Arthur Lloyd Bales

Arthur Bales, 71, of Decatur passed away on Monday, July 23, 2018 at his residence.

A native and lifelong resident of Meigs County, he was the oldest son of the late Henry and

Hettie Leona Bales. Mr. Bales was also preceded in death by siblings James Bales, Carolyn

Bales, Eddie Bales and Henrietta Shuler.

Mr. Bales is survived by his wife of 51 years Grace Helen Bales of Decatur,

daughters Melissa Duttenhoffer of Decatur and Charity (Shawn) Meeks of Grandview, and

son David (Frawlene) Bales of Etowah. Surviving siblings are sisters are Libby Robinson

of Decatur, Darlene (Gary) Waldrop of Ten Mile, Marcella (Roby) Helm of Etowah, Louise

Cushman of Ten Mile, and brother Scotty Bales of Niota. He is also survived by a sister-in-

law Gladys (Bill) Crowder of Riceville, ten grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter,

along with several nieces and nephews.

A Graveside memorial service will be held at 11am on Friday, July 27, 2018 at Roberts Cemetery in Ten Mile. Bowers Funeral Home of Decatur has been entrusted by the family with the arrangements.
