Arlen Joseph Carter

Arlen Joseph Carter, age 84, of Decatur, passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2024, at his residence.

He was a son of the late Oscar and Charlsie Fox Carter. He was a good man and a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, where he loved to sing and play the guitar. He enjoyed Coon hunting, watching Dale Earnhardt on NASCAR, and listening to Carl Smith.

He is preceded in death by his siblings: Louie, Tommy, Dewayne, Robbie, and Juanell Carter.

He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 63 years: Hope Carter; children: Debbie (Larry) Fagg, Cherie (Mike) Davis; grandchildren: Amber, Cherelle, A.J.; several great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; siblings: Ella Mae Gibson, Joyce Pritchett, Clifford Carter, Harvey Carter; several nieces, nephews, and other extended family, and a host of friends.

A Graveside Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
