Alva Lewis Williams
August 4, 1927 — April 6, 2019
Alva Lewis Williams, 91, of Decatur passed away Saturday, April 6, 2019 at Park West Medical Center in Knoxville. He was born in Charleston, Mississippi and had been a resident of Decatur for the past 18 years coming from Memphis. He was a police officer for many years. Alva was a gifted artist and loved woodworking, hunting and working with his hands.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herron and Lilly Williams.
Survivors include his loving wife of 69 years, Ruth Williams of Decatur; a son, Stephen Williams (Kristee Jobe) of South Haven, MS; a daughter, Beth Gott (Chris) of Decatur; two grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
The family is planning a memorial service to be announced at a later date.
