Aimee Leigh Mercer

June 2, 1977 — August 28, 2021

Aimee Leigh Mercer, 44, of Ten Mile, native of Atlanta, passed away on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at the Spring City Health Care Rehab. Aimee loved her family, music, and many friends. Aimee has touched many people throughout her life. Her unconditional love, smiles, and laughter would warm your heart. Aimee made a lasting impression Aimee was involved in early studies of her disability at National Institute of Health in Bethesda, MD. During her involvement the defective ML4 chromosome and gene was identified. This identification will hopefully lead to future treatment of this disability. She is preceded in death by her grandparents: William Dupree Grizzell, Marvin Price Mercer and Wynelle Mercer. She is survived by her parents: Marvin “Joel” Mercer (Renee) of Rockmart, GA, Debra (Benny) Parker of Ten Mile; brothers: Michael Mercer of Billings, MT, Jordan (Tina) Mercer of Cleveland, TN; John (Misty) Parker of Dallas, GA; sister: Sara (Steven) Curbelo of Bangkok, Thailand; nieces and nephews: Grey Mercer, Steven “Zam” Curbelo, Maddox Mercer, Graham Mercer, Aimee Laureana Curbelo, Lila Mercer; several aunts, uncles, and other extended family. The family would like to thank the following organizations for their support: Paulding Enterprises, Three Rivers Behavioral Health Services, Sunrise Community of Georgia, Creative Consulting Services, Redmond Medical Center, and Spring City Care and Rehabilitation. The family would also like to thank the many paraprofessionals, therapists, nurses, doctors, and care providers that showed Aimee respect and loving care. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
